Happy New Year!
We had a great holiday season with family and friends. And upon the return to preschool, my son got to celebrate along with his classmates the beginning of 2014.
Above you see the simple, but yet festive table I assembled for the kids’ lunch and treats. There were chicken and cheese mini sandwiches — perfect for little hands, and other healthy selections such as veggies and fruit. The sweet treats consisted of cupcakes for one the teachers’ birthday (sorry no photo), and as take-home favors, I made brownie pops dipped in a white candy shell and sprinkled with blue sparkly sugar.
The colors for the theme were turquoise, silver and gold. Turquoise chosen to captured winter’s blue, and silver/gold to celebrate the shining new beginning of the year.
On the kids’ table, we placed a gold crown at each setting with an added bead silver or gold necklace. Mylar balloons with “2014” on them rounded off the theme. The children all had a wonderful time.
Here’s to a bright new year — All the best in 2014!
